It was very early in the afternoon; the sun was shining and I was in the hallway laughing with my friends Shannon, Carolyn, Chelsey, and some guy I don't remember. Since we only had a minute left before the bell was supposed to ring, Carolyn and I separated from the others and speedwalked around the school.
But the school was a labyrinth of sorts with twists and turns and at least three floors. We walked up and down and all around. We stopped for a minute near the gym and the bell rang; I looked next to me and Carolyn had disappeared in a puff of smoke and was nowhere to be found.
Alone I walked to my class and by the time I reached the main lobby it was nighttime. There was only one adult in sight, that lady who sits at the sign-in desk. When I finally reached Mr. Stitt's class (AP US GOVT & POLITICS), I was expecting to be yelled at for my tardiness.
To my surprise, only eight people show up to class so he just said, "Screw it. Let's order some pizza!" I woke up happy with slight craving for a DiGiorno pizza (love those things).
