Theme Song: "We Are Family" - The Spice Girls
Earlier this afternoon, my mom and Jiselle decide to go a-bargain shopping at Value City, and since sadly, I have nothing better to do today, I tag along. For the hell of it, I look around at the clothes and I'm disturbed by what I find--guys' clothes are looking more and more like women's apparel everyday.
Everywhere I turn I see jeans splashed with paint and glitter, and I'm particularly shocked when I see a baby blue camisole on the rack. "This is obviously in the wrong section!" Really, Elton John wouldn't even wear that... the shirt makes it look like you have boobs. Other than the Emo selections, I'm delighted to see non-detailed, pixelated knock-offs of my ensembles as well. Through the corner of my eye, I see this cute guy cruisin' me in the Under Armour section. Usually I would lay the mack down, but I can't ditch my Mama in the middle of Value City. Nordstrom, maybe, but never Value City, LOL!
After the ladies finish stocking up on capri pants, we finally make our way to the counter. At the last minute, Mom decides to take off a pair of shorts. Jiselle says that she can put 'em back on and even offers to pay for them. This goes back and forth at least three times. "No, get the pants, no, put 'em away, no get 'em..." It finally ends with Jiselle shouting, "Just get the damn pants!" All the while, the cashier and I lock eyes and have a silent conversation: "These women are crazy." --- "Yeah, try living with them both for 16 years!" Then we smile at one another and crack up laughing.
