Uncle JiMBO? (2.12)

Original Air Date: 02.14.2006
Theme Song: "Let's Wait Awhile" - Janet Jackson

At exactly 5:40PM my sister Jiselle calls me up to wish me a Happy Valentine's Day... and to let me be the first one to know a little secret. Lately she's felt sick every morning, can barely walk up a flight of steps, and started weeping in the grocery store because they were out of blueberry muffins... by the way, my sister's athletic and weighs slightly less than I do so this behavior is NOT normal. But ya never know, maybe those muffins are just that delicious!

MMMMMmmmm

Anyway, to make a long story short, Jiselle tells me that she's pregnant, and I'm like, "Are you sure 'cause those little rinky-dink drug store tests aren't always right?" She is extremely convinced that she is with child... even though she didn't even have sex! That's right, stay with me: she engaged in some "heavy petting" with her "boyfriend" with no "penetration," but according to her, as long as the penis is out, all bets are off. *stares at sister through phone in disbelief*

Baby-Baby-Baby... Pirate?

And if she is in fact pregnant, she has to tell Mom and Dad before her water breaks. However, she's deathly afraid that they'll be disappointed in her and angry at her being careless. I assure her: "Come on! You're 24 years old for crying out loud!" She doesn't live at home, she has a good job, and she still has her looks--Why wouldn't Mom and Dad be as thrilled for her as I am? Really, Jiselle has ALWAYS wanted to be a mother and if this is all for real, I KNOW she'll be the perfect mom... she's always been a strong-willed no-nonsense kinda girl who doesn't need a man to raise a healthy girl or boy.

Personally, I suggest that she tell Mom (since she's on her way over now anyway), get herself tested at a hospital, and then if she's really got a bun in the oven, she should tell Dad herself (instead of expecting Mom to take all the heat, as usual). After hearing my sister panic over the phone about Mom & Dad's reactions, I feel compelled to tell my parents my big news during Spring Break (March 10); the problem there is that I don't know whether that'll take the pressure off Jiselle or make Dad's head explode. Oh well, time will tell.
