No Day But Today (2.04)

Original Air Date: 01.14.2006
Theme Song: "Where's The Party?" - Vitamin C

I swing by Servo (the dining hall) for the first time in months in order to eat some din-din with Sara & Mel. At the table we talk about our vegetarianism, Mel's boyfriend's family's appetite for liver and tongue, that episode of Doug ("Liver & Onions"), the dark side of Disney (Buena Vista/Miramax), Mel's Girls Gone Wild aspirations, RENT, and of course, roommates. Fortunately for Sara, Samara's got a man, so she gives Sara a lot of privacy; Mel's biggest complaint about her roommate is her random nighttime snacks. One night Mel, a very light sleeper, says to her roomie: "Is it snack time again?! It's 5:30 in the morning." Personally, Sean's innocent habit of talking in his sleep has gotten worse; now he's just shouting in gibberish (either that or German). Weird.

Doug Funnie, Oh The Guy, The Guy who's Made of Cool, And He's Still In School...

Even though I can feel an impending migraine, I head over to Bream and Plank Gyms after dinner (around 6:15PM) to continue my Ninja-Stripper Workout plan. I look around and realize why some of these athletic girls still aren't toned. They catch my eye at random times and I notice they only do about 2 sets of 5 reps on each machine... that's nothing! Besides, it's much better if you focus on one muscle group at a time (typically I go with 3-5 sets of 12, 10, 8 reps).

After my evening workout is finished, I jog back to Huber, take a shower, and go right back out--this time to see RENT in The Junction. The Junction is PACKED 15 minutes before the show even starts. Jai's there with her new roommate Kim; I sit on the floor (OW, my ass!) in front of Kelly, Leanne, Lindsey, and Shannon a.k.a The RENT Fanclub. Really. During the entire movie, I could hear Kelly & Leanne singing the guy and girl parts of every song. And let me tell ya, that's a lot of singing! Damn, I think that movie has at least 20 musical numbers. My personal favorites are Mimi's "Out Tonight" and "Tango Joanne." Overall, I'd give it 4 stars... I don't like modern musicals as much as I used to (especially after Phantom Of The Opera *cringe*).

Angel

I talk to Jai and Kim and walk them the 20 feet back to Stine. I chase Kelly and the girls down and all I know is that if I was a mugger, they would never stand a chance. Really, it takes them 2 seconds after I catch them to actually realize they've been caught. Gotta be on your toes, girls, that's all I've gotta say! Oh yeah, that reminds me, my favorite characters in the movie are Mimi and Angel a.k.a. The Kung Fu Drag Queen. HOT!
