19 On The 19th! (2.02)

Original Air Date: 01.19.2006
Theme Song: "Slava!" - Gettysburg College Symphony Band

I wake up 6:30AM to discover that today is my birthday... along with Randi, Jenn, Nichol, Dolly Parton, and of course, Edgar Allan Poe. Too bad it's also the first day of the Spring Term. My first class, Psych 101, starts at 8AM. I go outside and it is SOOO windy that I could literally skydive off the top of the library; that'd make this my most adventurous birthday yet... if not my last birthday ever.

Why did I have to survive, grow tall and strong, just to squander all of my potential by becoming a TEACHER?! AHHH!!

Class starts. And let me just say that I believe 100% that Professor D'Agostino was the inspiration behind Mr. DiMartino on Daria. "Good morning, class, my name is Mister D'AGOSTINO! and this is PSYCHOLOGY! 101. The similarities are uncanny. I talk a bit to David on the way out... BTW, the last time I saw him was during a secret Ninja mission in Stine Hall (see Episode 1.24: "Ninja!", previously referred to as "Some Dude"). After class I sign onto FaceBook to find a barrage of Birthday messages, 4 of which are from Allie! She actually counted down the seconds last night until my birthday... girl, we're not droppin' the Ball in Times Square, it's just my birthday. *teehee* But I love that she cares.

Bronwyn walkin'

Ambika-Sensei suggests that I have another party in my room. *scoff* Hah! She's just interested in setting up her Ninja network to the only Freshman dorm that isn't in her clutches: Huber. Wow, I think I've been watching too many Kung Fu movies. <-- That reminds me, my 2 film classes are Hong Kong Cinema and Film Aesthetics & Analysis with Professor Udden. Bronwyn & Amanda (from 101) are in the Analysis class with me, and by the way... Bronwyn's walking!! That's right, only 5 months after getting hit by a car she has fully recovered. WOO!
The Case of Jack the Ripper

Back at the dorm, Amanda & Samara put 10 streamers above my doorway--they look like Fruit-by-the-Foot paper... thanks for the thought, Ladies, but those streamers... gotta go. *laughs* Sorry, I don't make the rules. Meghan & Kendall leave a nice BDay message on our door's dry-erase board. And Sean surprises me with 2 horror movies for my collection: From Hell and House of 1000 Corpses. I love it! Especially since I've been meaning to buy both of them anyway but never got around to it. So thoughtful.

Happy Birthday to Me!

And later, my parents reserve a Birthday Cake for me in Servo so I pick that up and share it with my Huber hallmates. The only frustrating thing is that it comes with a lil' ass plastic knife that isn't even as tall as the actual cake... so it takes me 15 minutes to completely cut it. Totally worth it, though (Delicious). Mark goes as far as to call it "gangster!" Ummm... I wouldn't go that far but maybe that's just me. All things considered, this has been one of my best birthdays yet... usually, I'd have a migraine right now as I'd groggily blow out candles in front of my family at 11:30 in the PM! Oh, memories...
