Party At The Blue Note (1.05)

Original Air Date: 08.24.2005
Theme Song: "Fight For Your Right to Party" - The Beastie Boys

Once the Band Skits are over and the upperclassmen feel sufficiently entertained, John (our Drum Major) invites everyone to a party at the Blue Note, the jazz-themed house down the street. Wow, my first college party... HOT! After a few minutes, we start walking over there and as soon as I get inside I see Amy and some other guys watching Wendy the Snapple Lady getting a colonic (waste removal via a tube) on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club 2. Wow, it's exactly how I dreamed it would be!

Quote of the Moment: "Say what you will about colon irrigation. It is... da shit." - Margaret Cho, The Notorious C.H.O.

Activate the Giant Scales

I ask why we're watching it and the answer is quite simple--no one knows where to find the remote control. Eventually, one of the guys finds the remote and turns it to MTV's The Real World. Much better. *cringe* As more people arrive, we strike up a conversation about our favorite shows; most of them really love The O.C. and I just babble a bit about my obsessions with Nip/Tuck and Reno 911, two awesome shows according to me. Later on, I talk briefly with Matt (with some brief mutual stalkage), another first-year clarinetist about air hockey and such. Then, Megan, Allyson, and I head upstairs to play some Foosball.

We get up there only to find a red-faced Amy laughing hysterically as she battles Jimmy--and she isn't even drunk!! Crazy Amy. Eventually, Megan and I face off against Jimmy and Allyson and WE KICK ASS! Boo-yah! After the game, we all head back downstairs where everyone is just standing in a circle silently. "I'm bored of this party," I say to myself. Then, like that scene from Can't Hardly Wait, the kegs come out.

Amy leaves. And I just say, "Oooo, that looks like fun," and follow her out. My roommate's coming tomorrow morning and I really don't want to be hung over when his parents arrive... by the way, that's not my only reason for leaving early (11:35PM). But yes, I do need to clean the room up so he could fit all his stuff on the right side. Outside I meet up with Caitlyn ("Lil' Amy") and she tells me about how she's been talking to her roommate over the phone for a couple of weeks now. In fact, Her roommate flat out told her, "These are the shows I watch, and I'm bringing MY 25" TV." Oh dear, that poor girl's gonna be ripped to shreds. Well, she can hang in my room anytime... problem is, I'm so busy I'll hardly ever be in there myself.

Around 11:45PM I scurry down to first floor to use the vending machine and buy some COMBOS when I meet both Emily and Dean. Emily has a corner room on the first floor and it is MASSIVE! Really, it's bigger than my room and Dean's room combined. She says she's gonna put a futon in there. Screw that, she should put a hot-tub in there! Although Dean likes my suggestion, she's afraid that if she had a hottub, she'd never leave the room... she'd just be boilin' all day. Is that such a bad thing?

Mean Girls

It's really great to meet them both. Neither Emily nor I feel homesick; Dean does. He's never done his own laundry before so it makes sense for him to call his MaMa for advice. Speaking of which, I call my mom around 12:30AM 'cause I always have long days. All is well in Pasadena, and everything is wonderful here. After cleaning up my room and climbing into bed, I fall asleep watching Mean Girls. That is SO Fetch!
